A cigarette holder ring found in the iPhone 7 has been identified as fake, according to an expert.
A person who claimed to be an Apple supplier contacted a news outlet with the fake ring, claiming that the ring was a genuine Apple product.
Apple denied the claim, and said it’s investigating the ring as a genuine product.
The source of the ring, who claimed the ring could be used to store a variety of different types of batteries, has since claimed on social media that it was found after a person in Australia discovered it.
“I’ve been told this ring is real.
It was found inside my iPhone 7.
The phone has been destroyed,” the source said.”
It’s a real product.
I have an iPhone.”
Apple confirmed to CNBC that it’s looking into the claims made by the alleged ringmaker.
“We’ve been contacted by a user who says this is an authentic Apple product,” Apple said in a statement.
“We are investigating the matter and will provide an update as soon as we have more information.”
