Why are people switching to cigarette shops, australians are switching from cigarette packs, a cigarette soup, a new study has found.
The survey of almost 2,000 Australians found that almost half of people were now smoking cigarettes in their daily lives.
In terms of smoking habits, more than half (51 per cent) said they used a pack or lighter once a day or less, while 15 per cent said they smoke every day.
More than one-quarter (27 per cent), on average, smoked at least once a week.
The study found that more than a third (35 per cent of smokers) reported that they had never smoked cigarettes.
This survey of nearly 2,500 Australians was conducted online between February 5 and 18.
